OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
SUPPORTING THE NOMINATION OF THAINE MICHIE
FOR A SEAT ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC POWER ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, Thaine Michie, General Manager of Platte River Power
Authority, has been nominated by the Platte River Power Authority Board of
Directors for a seat on the American Public Power Association ("APPA")
Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Thaine Michie has 31 years of service in public power
activities, having served with the City of Fort Collins, in the U.S. Bureau
of Reclamation, the Western Area Power Administration, and with the Platte
River Power Authority; and
WHEREAS, he has been active in APPA for the past 8 years, having
served on the local arrangements committee, preference committee, and the
water and power committee; and
WHEREAS, he has also served on the boards and committees of the
Western System Coordinating Council , Inland Power Pool , North American
Electric Reliability Council , Trapper Mining Association, and the Colorado
River Energy Distributors Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Council unanimously supports the nomination of Thaine
Michie to the APPA Board of Directors for the Mountain Region.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 5th day of December, A.D. 1989.
