HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-040-03/19/1991-DISTRICT ATTORNEY IGA LARIMER COUNTY POLICE TRAINING FACILITY RESOLUTION 91- 40 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS WITH LARIMER COUNTY AND THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins' Police Services presently administers the use of the City's Indoor Police Training Facility (the "Facility") ; and WHEREAS, Police Services conducts firearms training and qualification activities, as well as certain other law enforcement related training for its own employees at the Facility; and WHEREAS, certain other law enforcement agencies in the area wish to use the Facility for these same types of activities; and WHEREAS, Police Services has negotiated the terms under which such use may be made, including payments which will assist in funding the operation and maintenance of the Facility; and WHEREAS, Section 29-1-203, C.R.S. , authorizes governmental entities to cooperate or contract with one another in order to provide any function, service or facility lawfully authorized to each if such a contract is properly authorized by each party thereto; and WHEREAS, Article II, Section 16 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the Council , by ordinance or resolution, to enter into contracts with other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services or enter into cooperative or joint activities with other governmental bodies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into the following intergovernmental agreements: Section 1 . An agreement between the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County for use of the Facility's shooting range for twenty (20) hours through December 31 , 1991, upon payment of One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($1,600.00) . Amounts payable for any additional use of the range or use of the classroom area shall be based upon the length of time and area involved. Section 2. An agreement between the City of Fort Collins and the Office of the District Attorney for the Eighth Judicial District for use of the Facility's shooting range, in conjunction with the City's training and qualification activities, as availability permits, through December 31 , 1991, upon payment of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) .
