HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-049-03/19/1991-ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS DIVISION OF AVIATION MUNICIPAL AIRPORT STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION 91- 49 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF COLORADO AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS WHEREAS, in Section 28-6-101 , C.R.S. , the General Assembly of the State of Colorado declared "that there exists a need to promote the safe operation and accessibility of general aviation in this state; that improvement of general aviation transportation facilities will promote diversified economic development across the state; and that accessibility of airport facilities for residents of this state is crucial in the event of medical or other type of emergency" ; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Aeronautical Board has the duty to establish procedures for the administration and distribution of moneys available to support the development of aviation facilities at qualifying airports in the state; and WHEREAS, the Division of Aviation ("Division") provides support for the Colorado Aeronautical Board ; and WHEREAS, among the statutory duties of the Division are the duties to provide advisory assistance to qualifying airports, including technical and planning assistance, and to administer state grant programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, as a joint owner of the Fort Collins- Loveland Airport, plans, in conjunction with the City of Loveland, to make requests for such advisory assistance and available funding from the Division and the Colorado Aeronautical Board in the future; and WHEREAS, Section 28-6-103 (5) , C.R.S. , limits the authority of the Division of Aviation, enabling it to assist only those airports which request assistance by means of a resolution passed by the governing board of the airport and forwarded to the Division. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, as an owner of the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport, that this Resolution serve: Section 1 . As a request for assistance from the Division for such advisory services as may be available; the particulars of any specific request shall be submitted to the Division by the Airport Manager of the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport. Section 2. As a formal agreement to accept such advisory assistance and funding as may be provided by the Division or the Colorado Aeronautical Board if tendered upon terms acceptable to the City and approved by the City Manager.
