OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPOINTING AN INTERIM CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, the currently appointed City Manager of the City of Fort
Collins has resigned effective January 1, 1986, and after October 15 , 1985,
shall have no further responsibility to the City, except to perform certain
consulting services for the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter places the responsibility of appointing a City
Manager with the Council ; and
WHEREAS, the position of City Manager will remain vacant until the
Council appoints a new City Manager to the post; and
WHEREAS, the duties and responsibilities of City Manayer are essential
to the functioning of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to appoint an Interim City Manager to perform
the duties of the City Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Richard H. Shannon is named as the Interim City Manager
effective October 16, 1985 to perform the duties of City Manager. The
salary for this period will be set at $65,500 annually and two additional
weeks of vacation are authorized to be taken at the expiration of the term
of his appointment as Interim City Manager. The appointment will lapse
when the Council officially appoints the new City Manager.
Passed and adopted. at an adjourned meeting of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins held this 8th day of October, A.D. 1985.
