OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF OPEN SPACE LAND IN THE FOOTHILLS
WHEREAS, in February of 1984 the Open Space Subcommittee of the
Council of the City of Fort Collins established a priority list of
properties to be acquired by the City for open space and public use; and
WHEREAS, one hundred and twenty (120) acres located on a ridge east of
Horsetooth Reservoir and owned by the Campeau family was listed as number
three in priority of acquisition; and
WHEREAS, this property has the potential for being developed as part
of the Foothills Trail system and its acquisition would also provide
solutions to the concerns of neighboring landowners and future trail users;
and
WHEREAS , acquisition of the Campeau property will enable the City to
join all of the City' s open space and trails activities in the foothills;
and
WHEREAS, the plan to purchase the Campeau property was unanimously
approved by the Parks and Recreation Board on October 22, 1985; and
WHEREAS, monies are available in the Conservation Trust Fund and the
Capital Projects Fund to pay the Two Hundred Forty Thousand Seven Hundred
and Twenty-Eight Dollars ($240,728. ) for the purchase of the Campeau
property.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement for the purchase of one hundred and twenty ( 120) acres of
land known as the Campeau property for a purchase price not to exceed Two
Hundred Forty Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty-Eight Dollars ($240,728. ) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
