OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE DRAKE CROSSING SUBSTATION SITE
WHEREAS, in 1982 the City of Fort Collins purchased a 3. acre site
near Drake and Taft Hill Road to be developed as a substation or the Light
and Power Utility; and
WHEREAS, in May of 1985 a study of the electrical sys em was conducted
and it was determined that this substation site was no onger needed for
future development; and
WHEREAS, as is City practice, the site was off ed to all other City
departments and it was determined that the only por ion of the site needed
by the City is a fifty foot trail easement and twenty foot additional
right-of-way for Drake Road; and
WHEREAS, in August, all property owners thin one hundred and fifty
feet of the site were notified that the arcel was for sale at the
appraised value of One Hundred and Four Thou nd Dollars ($104,000.) ; and
WHEREAS, subsequently, two bid packa es were issued by the Purchasing
Department with one bid from Drake ossing, Ltd. Partnership being
returned for review; and
WHEREAS, the bid received is in he amount of One Hundred Ten Thousand
Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ( 10,250.) which is greater than the
appraised value of the property d
WHEREAS, the necessary t ail easement and additional right-of-way
would be retained after the sa .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor an City Clerk be, and they hereby are, authorized
to execute the deed nece ary for the sale of 3.86 acres of property owned
by the City of Fort Coll ns near Drake and Taft Hill Road to Drake Crossing
Ltd. Partnership for a sum of One Hundred Ten Thousand Two Hundred and
Fifty Dollars ($110,2 .) .
Passed and ad pted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
17th day of Decemb r, A.D. 1985.
