HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-225-12/03/1985-MODIFYING THE POLICY FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS RESOLUTION 85-225 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS MODIFYING THE POLICY FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS, the City Council has established Boards and Commissions in order to advise City Council and administer certain functions for the residents of the City of Fort Collins; and WHEREAS, the rights of the residents of the City of Fort Collins will best be served by providing both residents and members of boards and commissions the opportunity for public input prior to formal appointment by City Council . WHEREAS, in order to provide this opportunity to all residents of the City of Fort Collins, it will be necessary to modify the policy for Boards and Commissions appointments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. At the first scheduled meeting, City Council will announce the names of prospective appointees, and make a motion to adopt the Resolution inserting those names. Section 2. City Council will table the Resolution for a two-week period, or until the next regularly scheduled meeting, to allow public input from citizens and current members of boards and commissions on the prospective appointees. Section 3. At the second scheduled meeting, City Council will make the formal appointments. Section 4. The terms of this resolution shall be effective December 3, 1985.
