OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF LAND LOCATED AT
906 WEST VINE AND 904 WEST VINE
WHEREAS, a space study conducted by City staff and Architecture Plus
indicated a need for the acquisition of land to accommodate the ten year
space needs of the City's Light and Power, Water and Sewer, and
Transportation Services Departments ; and
WHEREAS, the Master Plan for the expansion of the Wood Street Service
Center was presented to Council on November 26, 1985, and proposed the
first phase as the purchase of two parcels of land immediately west of the
existing Service Center site; and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated a lower purchase price offer than
previously suggested for these parcels of One Hundred Seventy-Three
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($173,500) for 904 West Vine and Two Hundred
Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($215,000) for 906 West Vine; and
WHEREAS, City staff and local appraisers have determined that these
prices are equivalent to the value of the properties ; and
WHEREAS, monies for these purchases are available from the Light and
Power, Water, and Wastewater funds ; and
WHEREAS, current zoning of the properties is compatible with future
City use; and
WHEREAS, Council will not be authorizing the entire Master Plan for
the expansion of the Wood Street Service Center by passage of this
resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
such documents as are necessary to purchase the property at 904 West Vine
for a price not to exceed One Hundred Seventy-Three Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($173,500) and 906 West Vine for a price not to exceed Two Hundred
Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($215,000).
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
17th day of December, A.D. 1985.
