HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-230-12/17/1985-APPOINTING A SUBCOMMITTEE FOR LEGISLATIVE LOBBYING RESOLUTION 85-230 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPOINTING A SUBCOMMITTEE FOR LEGISLATIVE LOBBYING WHEREAS, issues facing the state legislature and the Congress frequently are of great interest to the citizens of Fort Collins and can have a significant effect on their interests; and WHEREAS, it is often important for the Council to take a position on legislation being considered by our elected representatives at other levels of government; and WHEREAS, an effective and coordinated method of communicating with these representatives is important in making known the Council 's positions ; and WHEREAS, it is important that the Council be well informed on these issues and their potential effect on the citizens of Fort Collins ; and WHEREAS, a small , representative group of Councilmembers can best express the positions of the Council on these issues; and WHEREAS, Councilmember John Knezovich was elected to the Colorado Municipal League Board of Directors in June 1985; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Larry Estrada was appointed by the City Council to be their representative on the Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee in September 1985. WHEREAS, Councilmember Gerry Horak has served on many inter- governmental committees and has shown expertise and knowledge in matters of state-wide concern. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the following named Councilmembers will be appointed to the Council Subcommittee on Legislative Lobbying until such time as the Council may decide to make new appointments: Larry Estrada John Knezovich Gerry Horak Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 17th day of December, A.D. 1985. pp / " ATTEST: Mayor City erc
