HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-005-02/01/2005-AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF T RESOLUTION 2005-005 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN ORDER FOR THE CITY TO RECEIVE GRANT FUNDING FOR THE MASON TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR TRAIL PROJECT WHEREAS,the Colorado Department of Transportation("CDOT")has awarded a$251,585 Surface Transportation-Urban grant to the City to assist in funding the design of the Mason Transportation Corridor("MTC")trail project north from the Spring Creek Trail to connect with the Colorado State University campus, on condition that the City supply matching funds in the amount of$61,415; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City that the Mayor enter into an agreement with CDOT in order for the City to receive the $251,585 in grant funding for the MTC trail project. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that, contingent upon Council appropriation of funds therefor, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation in order for the City to receive a grant in the sum of $251,585 to assist in the funding of the Mason Transportation Corridor bicycle/pedestrian trail project.
