RESOLUTION 85- 100
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH BROWN & CALDWELL CONSULTING ENGINEERS
TO CONDUCT A WASTEWATER RATE STUDY
WHEREAS, staff has recommended a wastewater rate study to be
undertaken to address the problem of equitable distribution of costs
related to providing service to various rate categories; and
WHEREAS, in March of 1985 the City 's Purchasing Department released
Request for Proposal /Qualifications (P-97) to solicit consultants to
perform this rate study; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing seven proposals, three firms were interviewed
and Brown & Caldwell Consulting Engineers was determined to be the most
qualified firm; and
WHEREAS, the fee for professional services for the wastewater rate
study and a computerized model which will enable staff to update the study
in future years is Thirty-Nine Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($39,500) ; and
WHEREAS, monies are available in the adopted 1985 Budget for this
project ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, a professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) must be approved by the City Council .
NUW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement with Brown & Caldwell Consulting Engineers to conduct a
wastewater rate study and develop a computerized model of the same, said
services to be performed for a sum not to exceed Thirty-Nine Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars ($39,500).
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 18th day of June, A.D. 1985.
