HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-031-02/07/1989-AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING AND RISK MANAGEMENT TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER FOR THE 1988 LO RESOLUTION 89- 31 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING AND RISK MANAGEMENT TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER FOR THE 1988 LOCAL STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and Flatiron Paving Company have entered into a contract to construct the improvements associated with the City's 1988 Local Street Maintenance Program; and WHEREAS, the Council hereby finds that additional and/or revised maintenance is required on certain City streets included in said program; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds to perform said additional and/or revised maintenance are available and appropriated in the street maintenance program funds; and WHEREAS, the Council therefore finds that it is in the best interest of the City that a change order be executed with Flatiron Paving Company for the purpose of accomplishing said additional and/or revised maintenance; and WHEREAS, the City's Capital Projects Procedure Manual requires that change orders in excess of $50,000 be approved by the City Council . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the contract amount for the 1988 Local Street Maintenance Program is hereby increased by One Hundred Eighty-five Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty-nine Dollars and Fifty-six Cents ($185,859.56) to provide for the additional and/or revised repair of cross pans, curb and gutter, failed asphalt sections, and the construction of asphaltic concrete overlays in conjunction with this program, and the Council hereby authorizes the Director of Purchasing and Risk Management to execute a change order for the Contractor, Flatiron Paving Company, for such amount.
