AMENDING RESOLUTION 89-5
SUBMITTING TO THE REGISTERED ELECTORS
OF THE CITY AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING A TWENTY-FIVE
HUNDREDTHS PERCENT (0.25%) INCREASE IN SALES AND USE TAX
ON ALL TAXABLE ITEMS EXCEPT FOOD FOR A PERIOD OF
EIGHT YEARS FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING REVENUE FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins on January 3, 1989
adopted Resolution 89-5 submitting Proposed Ordinance No. 9, 1989 to the
City voters on March 7, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 89-5 sets out the full text of Proposed Ordinance
No. 9, 1989 and establishes the ballot language for the issue; and
WHEREAS, the text of Proposed Ordinance No. 9, 1989 and the ballot
language list various projects that will be funded by the imposition of the
proposed sales tax; and
WHEREAS, a correction and clarification is necessary for one of the
projects listed under the Streets/Transportation Capital Projects category
in the text of Proposed Ordinance No. 9, 1989 as set out in Section 1 of
Resolution 89-5 and the ballot language for the issue as set out in Section
2 of Resolution 89-5.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS:
Section 1. That the text of Proposed Ordinance No. 9, 1989 as set out
in Section 1 of Resolution 89-5 be amended by the deletion of the
Streets/Transportation Capital Project entitled "Shields, Raintree to Casa
Grande" and by the inclusion of a Streets/Transportation Capital Project
entitled "Shields, Davidson to Casa Grande. "
Section 2. That the ballot language for Proposed Ordinance No. 9,
1989 as set out in Section 2 of Resolution 89-5 be amended by the deletion
of the Streets/Transportation Capital Project entitled "Shields, Raintree
to Casa Grande" and by the inclusion of a Streets/Transportation Capital
Project entitled "Shields, Davidson to Casa Grande. "
