OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY
FOR FISH AND BENTHIC BIOSURVEYS
WHEREAS, City wastewater discharge activities may have an impact on
water characteristics in the Cache La Poudre River; and
WHEREAS, the City has been involved since 1981 in a survey program to
determine the degree of impact that such activities may have on the waters
of the Cache La Poudre River; and
WHEREAS, information regarding water quality is essential for water
resources planning and management activities; and
WHEREAS, for the aforesaid reasons, the Council of the City of Fort
Collins has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of
the City that said survey program be continued for the calendar year 1989;
and
WHEREAS, the cost of said survey program for 1989 is Twenty-one
Thousand Seven Hundred and Six Dollars ($21,706) , and said funds are
budgeted and available in the Water and Wastewater Fund; and
WHEREAS. Article III, Section 16 of the City Charter provides that
the Council may enter into agreements with other governmental bodies for
the performance of cooperative or joint activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into an
intergovernmental agreement with Colorado State University for the
continuation of a fish and benthic biosurvey program of the Cache La Poudre
River for the 1989 calendar year, in consideration of the payment by the
City of a sum not to exceed Twenty-one Thousand Seven Hundred and Six
Dollars ($21,706) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 21st day of February, A.D 9
