HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-044-02/21/1989-AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY TO RESOLUTION 89-44 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE POTABLE WATER SAMPLE TESTING FOR THE CSU CAMPUS WHEREAS, State primary drinking water regulations require minimum water testing for different water systems located within the Fort Collins area; and WHEREAS, the water system serving Colorado State University should be considered a separate water system for testing requirements; and WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the City of Fort Collins that testing be accomplished at Colorado State University since the City of Fort Collins supplies water to that facility; and WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement with Colorado State University since 1963 for said testing services; and WHEREAS, Article III Section 16 of the City Charter provides that the Council may enter into agreements with other governmental bodies for the performance of cooperative or joint activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Colorado State University under the terms of which the University would perform water testing in accordance with State requirements for the period of January 1, 1989 through December 31 , 1990, for a sum not to exceed Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety-six Dollars ($5,796) ; ($2,880 for testing services performed in the first year and $2,916 for testing services performed in the second year) , the second year of the agreement being contingent upon appropriation of funds by City Council in the 1990 Water Fund budget.
