OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE WEST SIDE
NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN AND RECOMMENDING ITS INCLUSION
AS AN ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1977, the Council of the City of Fort Collins
adopted the Goals and Objectives of the City of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the Goals and Objectives are the foundation element of the
Comprehensive Plan which is a policy guide to decisions concerning the
physical , social , economic and environmental development of the City; and
WHEREAS, since 1977, the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Fort
Collins has been expanded to include documents designed to further define
and/or implement the Goals and Objectives of the City of Fort Collins, such
as the Land Use Policies Plan, Open Space Plan, Master Street Plan, Land
Development Guidance System and various neighborhood plans; and
WHEREAS, the West Side Neighborhood Plan is a public statement of the
City's policies with regard to the future development and preservation of
the West Side Neighborhood in terms of land use, transportation, private
maintenance, historic conservation, open space and public facilities and
infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the West Side Neighborhood Plan has been published throughout
the community and the public has had numerous opportunities to comment
thereon; and
WHEREAS, on July 11, 1988, the Planning and Zoning Board recommended
that the West Side Neighborhood Plan be approved and adopted (except for
Chapter 5 thereof) ; and
WHEREAS, on June 26, 1989, the Planning and Zoning Board reviewed and
approved Chapter 5 of the West Side Neighborhood Plan.
WHEREAS, on July 18, 1989, the City Council conducted a public hearing
on the West Side Neighborhood Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE CITY
OF FORT COLLINS that the City of Fort Collins West Side Neighborhood Plan
(dated July 18, 1989) be and hereby is adopted and approved for
incorporation into the City of Fort Collins Comprehensive Plan for the
purpose of encouraging and guiding development in the west side
neighborhood and for providing policy guidelines for any subsequent changes
to the Code of the City which the City Council may deem necessary and
appropriate for the purpose of regulating development in the west side
neighborhood.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting o the City Cojincil held this
18th day of July, A.D. 1989.
