OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WATER LINE
WITH THE TAFT HILL/HORSETOOTH INTERSECTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and the Poudre R-1 School District
desire to construct the public improvements necessary to serve the proposed
1990 Elementary School ; and
WHEREAS, such necessary public improvements include the construction
of a 20-inch water line in Horsetooth Road west of Taft Hill Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and Siegrist Construction Company
have entered into a contract to construct the improvements associated with
the City's Taft Hill Road and Horsetooth Road Intersection Project; and
WHEREAS, the Poudre R-1 School District has requested that the City
add the construction of the necessary 20-inch water line to the City's Taft
Hill Road and Horsetooth Road Intersection Project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and the Poudre R-1 School District
have negotiated an agreement to allow for the addition of the water line
construction to the Taft Hill Road and Horsetooth Road Intersection Project
and to divide the costs of such construction between the City and the
School District; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds for the construction of such improvements
have been appropriated for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City's Capital Projects Procedures Manual requires that
change orders in excess of $50,000 be approved by the City Council .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the contract amount for the Taft Hill Road and Horsetooth Road
Intersection Project should be increased by an amount not to exceed
Fifty-Six Thousand Dollars ($56,000) to provide for the construction of a
20-inch water line in Horsetooth Road west of Taft Hill Road in conjunction
with that project, and the Council hereby authorizes the Director of
Purchasing and Risk Management to execute a change order for the
contractor, Siegrist Construction Company, for such work.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
18th day of July, A.D. 1989.
