OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE
CONVENTION AND VISITORS' BUREAU BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has authorized the
City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Fort Collins Convention
and Visitors' Bureau; and
WHEREAS, convention and tourist activities are a clean base industry,
generating new income to the local economy; and
WHEREAS, an organized Convention and Visitors' Bureau can offer
professional promotions and coordinated marketing efforts; and
WHEREAS, Bureau activities can attract new conventions and extend the
visits of tourists and visitors to Fort Collins resulting in increased tax
revenues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins collects a Lodging Tax and has
authorized the expenditure of a portion of those revenues to be allocated
to the contract for services with the Bureau; and
WHEREAS, due to the public funds allocated to the Bureau, Council is
authorized to make six appointments to the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, positions representing the community at-large and the area of
visual arts are vacant due to the expiration of those terms; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to make appointments to fill said
vacancies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the following named persons be, and hereby are, appointed as
members of the Convention and Visitors' Bureau Board of Directors with
terms to expire as set forth below:

Rosalyn Spencer (visual arts) December 31, 1991
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
17th day of January, A.D. 1989.
