OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
HONORING COUNCILMEMBER CATHY FROMME
WHEREAS, on November 6, 1990, the electorate of the City approved an
amendment to the City Charter which divided the City into six districts, with
each district to be represented by a district councilmember; and
WHEREAS, in April of 1991 , Councilmember Cathy Fromme was elected to serve
as the first representative of the newly-created District 4; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Fromme ably served the members of District 4 and the
citizens of the City until her untimely death on November 16, 1992; and
WHEREAS, during her term of service, Councilmember Fromme demonstrated an
extraordinary degree of courage and commitment to the City which was an
inspiration to all members of the community; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Fromme was especially interested in protecting the
City's natural environment and was particularly supportive of the City's
acquisition of natural areas and open space as a means of maintaining and
enhancing areas of ecological significance within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge Councilmember Fromme's
tireless and dedicated efforts on behalf of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That Council wishes to recognize Councilmember Fromme for her
efforts to enrich the lives of the citizens of Fort Collins and the quality of
the Fort Collins community by increasing public awareness of and appreciation for
the natural environment of the City.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby directed to present for
Council 's review and consideration an appropriate, City-owned natural area or
open space to be named in honor of Councilmember Fromme.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 17th day of November, A.D. 1992.
