OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS, CROSSWALKS,
STOP BARS, SIGNS AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS.
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation has prepared and
presented to the City an agreement providing for the City to maintain traffic
signals, crosswalks, stop bar, signs and pavement markings along State highways
within the City limits; and
WHEREAS, the City has entered into previous intergovernmental agreements
with the Colorado Department of Transportation, providing for the maintenance of
traffi signals, crosswalks, stop bars, signs and pavement markings along State
highways within the City, and no problems have developed from those agreements;
and
WHEREAS, Section 29-1-203 of the Colorado Revised Statutes and Article II ,
Section 16, of the City Charter authorize governments to enter into contractual
agreements with one another for the purpose of cooperating together in joint
activities; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the
City that an agreement be entered into with the State of Colorado providing for
the maintenance of such traffic signals, crosswalks, stop bars, signs and
pavement markings within the City and payment therefor by the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to enter into an
intergovernmental agreement between the City and the Colorado Department of
Transportation, which agreement shall provide for the maintenance by the City of
traffic signals, crosswalks, stop bars, signs and pavement markings along State
highways within the City, and payment therefor by the State at a monthly rate of
Two Hundred and Twenty-seven and 02/100 Dollars ($227.02) per traffic signal , a
yearly rate of Eight Hundred Sixty-five and 20/100 Dollars ($865.20) per mile for
signing and pavement marking and a monthly rate of Nine and 05/100 Dollars
($9.05) per crosswalk and/or stop bar.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 15th day of September, A.D. 1992.
