APPOINTING COUNCIL MEMBERS TO A WATER
QUALITY/WATER TREATMENT MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Council accepted the Framework for Environmental Action; and
WHEREAS, the Framework for Environmental Action called for the creation of
a formalized policy regarding City standards for drinking water; and
WHEREAS, the City has a growing concern about the increasing costs
associated with providing our customers with high quality treated water; and
WHEREAS, studies conducted during the past couple of years have indicated
a potential need for various capital improvements at the City's water treatment
facility; and
WHEREAS, most of these improvements are associated with treating water for
existing customers, therefore affecting water rate projections for future years,
and
WHEREAS, previous issues of significant importance or potential impact have
been successfully identified and addressed by utilizing the Water Board/City
Council committee format.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That the Council hereby establishes a Water Quality/Water
Treatment Master Plan Committee ("the Committee") , which shall consist of the
following Councilmembers and three Water Board members to be appointed by the
Water Board:
Gerry Horak
Bob Winokur
Loren Maxey
Section 2. That the Committee shall review and make recommendations to the
Council regarding the City's water quality policy and water treatment master
plan.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 1st day of September, A.D. 1992.
