OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING A FIVE-YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN
FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION FUNDS
PROVIDED THROUGH THE INTERMODAL SURFACE
TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT OF 1991
WHEREAS, the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991
establishes local responsibilities for the programming of federally funded
transportation projects and provides that the determination of transportation
needs and the prioritization of projects shall be on a regional level ; and
WHEREAS, the North Front Range Transportation and Air Quality Planning
Council ("NFRT & AQPC") has been established by the City of Fort Collins and
other regional governmental entities as the regional agency burdened with the
responsibilities of determining such transportation needs and prioritizing
transportation projects; and
WHEREAS, the staff of the City has examined the transportation needs of the
City and has presented its report to the City Council for consideration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a Fiscal Years 1993-1997
Transportation Improvement Program for the City of Fort Collins indicating the
City's prioritized list of the projects, together with a list of projects that
require Colorado Department of Transportation cooperation and participation,
should be submitted to the NFRT & AQPC in order that the NFRT & AQPC may
incorporate the City's prioritized list into the regional transportation priority
list.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That the City Council does hereby propose to the NFRT & AQPC
the City's prioritized list of projects proposed for Fiscal Years 1993-1997,
which list of projects is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein
by this reference.
Section 2. That the City Council recommends that certain projects be
included on the list requiring Colorado Department of Transportation cooperation
and participation, which list is attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and incorporated
herein by this reference.
Passed and adopted at a adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 25th day of August, A.D. 1992.
