OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
WITH LARIMER COUNTY TO PROVIDE PARATRANSIT SERVICES
TO COUNTY RESIDENTS
WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement through which paratransit services shall
be provided to Fort Collins residents; and
WHEREAS, Latimer County, Colorado ("the County") seeks to provide certain similar
paratransit services to residents in areas of Latimer County outside of the City of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the City and the County have negotiated an intergovernmental agreement
through which the City would provide paratransit services to the County to the mutual benefit of both
the City and the County; and
WHEREAS,the agreement calls for the City to provide certain basic paratransit services to
County residents, and provides for modification of the services to be provided by the City Manager
as such modifications are from time to time deemed desirable; and
WHEREAS,the agreement would require the County to pay the City on a monthly basis for
the paratransit services provided by the City to County residents, at a rate of Twenty-eight Dollars
($28.00) per vehicle hour, and thus to compensate the City fully for its costs of operating such
services; and
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 16 of the City Charter empowers the Council to enter into
contracts with other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services and make charges for
such services.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement
with the County, whereby the City would provide paratransit services as from time to time may be
agreed upon between the City and the County, and the County would pay the City Twenty-eight
Dollars ($28)per vehicle hour for such services, for up to five(5) annual terms beginning in January
1996,on such otfier terms and conditions as may be approved by the City Manager and the City
Attorney.
