HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-077-05/06/1986-BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD CROSSING SIGNALIZATION LINDEN STREET MASON STREET OLIVE STREET RESOLUTION 86- 77 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH THE BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD FOR CROSSING SIGNALIZATION AT MASON STREET AND OLIVE STREET AND AT LINDEN STREET JUST SOUTH OF VINE DRIVE WHEREAS, Resolution 85-96 and Resolution 85-97 authorized the City Manager to enter into agreements with the Colorado Department of Highways to provide the funding for railroad crossing protection at the Burlington Northern Railroad crossings at Mason and Olive Streets and Linden Street just south of Vine Drive; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City enter into contracts with the Burlington Northern Railroad to begin the installation of the crossings at these locations; and WHEREAS, the City's share of the monies needed to construct these crossings or $10,860 is currently budgeted and appropriated in the 1986 Engineering Services minor capital fund; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins that contracts be entered into with the Burlington Northern Railroad for the construction of crossing signalization at the intersection of Mason and Olive Streets and Linden Street just south of Vine Drive. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into contracts with the Burlington Northern Railroad for crossing signalization at the Mason Street and Olive Street intersection and Linden Street just south of Vine Drive.
