OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH EMPIRE LABORATORIES, INC. FOR TESTING SERVICES
IN CONNECTION WITH CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AT THE CITY'S
WASTEWATER PLANTS
WHEREAS, on February 27, 1986, the City's Purchasing Department
released Request for Proposal/Qualifications (P-97) to solicit firms to
conduct geotechnical investigations at the City's wastewater treatment
plants; and
WHEREAS, five firms responded and were interviewed by a selection
committee and that committee recommended award of the testing services
contract to Empire Laboratories, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, Empire Laboratories, Inc. has proposed to perform the work for
the sum of Fifty-Three Thousand Dollars ($53,000. ) ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000. ) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement with Empire Laboratories, Inc. , for
quality control testing and inspection of soils, concrete, and asphalt for
projects in the wastewater treatment system, said services to be performed
by Empire Laboratories, Inc. for a sum not to exceed Fifty-Three Thousand
Dollars ($53,000.) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 6th day of May, A.D. 1986.
