OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE OPERA HOUSE
BLOCK PROJECT LOCATED AT 117-149 112 NORTH COLLEGE
BY THE FORT COLLINS DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Downtown Authority has been duly organized
in accordance with CRS 31-25-804, Colorado revised statutes , 1973, as
amended; and
WHEREAS, Mountain Avenue Properties, a Development Corporation, and
Walter Brown have proposed the renovation and rehabilitation of the
properties located at 117-149 1/2 North College Avenue, Fort Collins,
Colorado; and
WHEREAS, said properties lie within the ODA District and the Fort
Collins Downtown Development Authority has as one of its primary objectives
the improvement of the downtown in accordance with the approved Plan of
Development; and
WHEREAS, the Plan of Development of the Fort Collins Downtown
Development Authority more specifically has as one of its objectives the
encouragement of private restoration, rehabilitation and development within
the District through public improvements and assistance so as to prevent
deterioration of existing structures and property values; and
WHEREAS, the Plan of Development also has as one of its objectives
the encouragement or reuse of historically or architecturally significant
buildings in the District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Council incorporates within the Plan of Development
of the Downtown Development Authority the Opera House Block Project.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
15th day of April , 1986.
