OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
KANE AND JOHNSON ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES
FOR ASBESTOS REMOVAL PROJECT
WHEREAS, there are fourteen City and Poudre Fire Authority-owned
buildings which still contain some amount of asbestos within them; and
WHEREAS, the City issued a request for proposals to solicit consultants
to perform design and construction administration services for the asbestos
removal work; and
WHEREAS, five proposals were received and City staff interviewed four
firms and gave the highest rating to Kane and Johnson Associates, Inc. of
Austin, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, Kane and Johnson Associates , Inc. has experience in asbestos
removal design work; and
WHEREAS, Kane and Johnson Associates, Inc. will perform these services
for a flat fee of Twenty-Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($22,600. ) ; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000. ) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in a open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement with Kane and Johnson Associates,
Inc. for design and construction administration services for the asbestos
removal project, said services to be performed by Kane and Johnson,
Associates, Inc. for a flat fee of Twenty-Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars
($22,600.) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 1st day of April , A.D. 1986.
