HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-042-03/04/1986-AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING WINDY GAP COMMITTEE RESOLUTION 86- 42 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE WINDY GAP COMMITTEE AS THE SUCCESSOR TO THE SIX CITY WATER COMMITTEE WHEREAS, on February 24, 1969, the City of Fort Collins entered into an agreement which established the "Six City Water Committee" for the development of water supplies, particularly the Windy Gap Project; and WHEREAS, since that time the membership composition has changed and the group believes it is desirable to enter into a new agreement that more appropriately defines the membership, purpose, and procedures of the committee; and WHEREAS, although not a paying participant in the Windy Gap Project, the City continues to have the right to first use of this water through a reuse agreement with Platte River Power Authority and the Water Supply and Storage Company; and WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City be a party to this agreement because parts of the City are located within the boundaries of the Subdistrict; and WHEREAS, the Water Board of the City of Fort Collins on February 21 , 1986 unanimously approved a motion to recommend to the Council that the City enter into the agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an agreement establishing the "Windy Gap Committee" as the successor to the "Six City Water Committee" and defining the membership, purpose and procedures of the Committee.
