OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ENDORSING THE INCLUSION OF CHAPTER 2 OF
THE POUDRE RIVER TRUST LAND USE POLICY PLAN
AS AN ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1977, the Council of the City of Fort Collins
adopted the Goals and Objectives of the City of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the Goals and Objectives is the foundation document of the
Comprehensive Plan which is a policy guide to decisions concerning the
physical , social , economic, and environmental development of the City; and
WHEREAS, since 1977 the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Fort Collins
has been expanded to include documents designed to further define and/or
implement the Goals and Objectives of the City of Fort Collins. Some of
the documents included are the Land Use Policies Plan, the Land Development
Guidance System and various neighborhood plans; and
WHEREAS, the Poudre River Trust Land Use Policy Plan is a planning
tool , designed to articulate community desires for the Downtown River
Corridor and balance economic development and preservation concerns; and
WHEREAS, on September 30, 1985, the Planning and Zoning Board formally
recommended that Chapter 2 (Policy Plans) of the Poudre River Trust Land
Use Policy Plan be adopted as a part of the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, this recommendation and the Poudre River Trust Land Use
Policy Plan was presented to City Council at a worksession on November 26,
1985; and
WHEREAS, since that time the various City Boards and Commissions
affected by the Poudre River Trust Land Use Policy Plan have reviewed the
same and have had their comments and concerns incorporated in and addressed
by the Plan; and
WHEREAS, those Boards and Commissions have endorsed the adoption of
Chapter 2 of the Plan as an element of the Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Chapter 2 of the Poudre River Trust Land Use Policy Plan be,
and the same hereby is, adopted as an element of the Comprehensive Plan of
the City of Fort Collins.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
18th day of February, A.D. 1986.
