OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE STATE OF COLORADO
TO IMPLEMENT A GRANT FOR A PILOT CURBSIDE
RECYCLING COLLECTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the U.S. Treasury Department has received $2. 1 billion from
the Exxon Corporation for crude oil overcharges that occurred between 1975
and 1981; and
WHEREAS, a portion of this money has been made available to Colorado
to sponsor activities and programs that will have a significant impact on
energy consumption and conservation practices; and
WHEREAS, the City Department of Natural Resources has been selected to
receive a grant award in the amount of One Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Six
Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($149,650.) to be used for a pilot curbside
recycling collection project; and
WHEREAS, to implement this grant it is necessary that the City enter
into a contract with the State of Colorado, which contract shall extend
from November 1, 1986 to July 1, 1988.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a contract with the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory
Agencies/Office of Energy Conservation. This contract will implement
Executive Order No. D0092 86 and provide One Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand
Six Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($149,650. ) to the City Department of Natural
Resources for a pilot curbside recycling collection project.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 21st day of October, A.0 0C.
