HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-124-08/06/1985-DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO INITIATE AN ANNUAL SIDEWALK REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROGRAM WITH A PIL RESOLUTION 85- 124 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO INITIATE AN ANNUAL SIDEWALK REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROGRAM WITH A PILOT PROGRAM COMMENCING IN THE FALL OF 1985 WHEREAS, the sidewalks in the City of Fort Collins are meant to provide a safe, convenient and pleasant means of travel for pedestrians; and WHEREAS, many of the older sidewalks are in need of repair and some areas of the City have no sidewalks; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has directed staff to develop an annual sidewalk program which will address these problems; and WHEREAS, the Annual Sidewalk Program has been formulated to construct new sidewalk, bring existing sidewalk to good condition and maintain that condition; and WHEREAS, a pilot program is proposed to be initiated this Fall in the older portion of Fort Collins bounded by Mulberry, Taft, Vine and Riverside; and WHEREAS, Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.) has been budgeted for this pilot program from the Streets Minor Capital Fund; and WHEREAS, the pilot program will be used to evaluate and refine the criteria used in the Annual Sidewalk Program before it is implemented on a City-wide basis. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Engineer be, and he hereby is, directed to initiate an Annual Sidewalk Repair and Replacement Program with a pilot program commencing in the Fall of 1985.
