OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ADOPTING THE TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN 2004
AS AN ELEMENT OF THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
AND AMENDING THE MASTER STREET PLAN
WHEREAS,certain previously adopted elements of the City's Transportation Master Plan
1997, including the Pedestrian Plan, Bicycle Plan, Master Street Plan, Transit Plan, and Capital
Improvement Project Dist, as well as transportation-related Vision, Goals, Principles, and Policies
from City Plan (1997), were considered, updated, and incorporated as a foundation for the
Transportation Master Plan 2004; and
WHEREAS,updated information and analysis has been incorporated into the Transportation
Master Plan to reflect changes that have occurred since 1997, and forecasted changes in the future
and an in-depth analysis to determine future transportation system needs and performance has also
been performed; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive accounting of all transportation capital needs for all modes
of travel has been developed, and potential existing and future funding sources that may be applied
to these needs have been identified; and
WHEREAS, certain recommended amendments to the City Master Street Plan have been
identified, which are needed to provide adequate transportation access and mobility; and
WHEREAS,significant input and favorable recommendations of Transportation Master Plan
approval have been received from the City Transportation,Planning and Zoning, Air Quality, and
Natural Resources Advisory Boards with regard to such amendments.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the Transportation Master Plan 2004, as presented herewith to the City
Council and available for inspection in the office of the City Clerk is in the best interests of the City,
and is hereby adopted by the Council as an element of the Comprehensive Plan of the City.
Section 2. That the Master Street Plan is hereby amended to reflect the changes shown
on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 2nd day of March,
A.D. 2004.
