HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-152-12/02/1997-APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PROVIDING FO RESOLUTION 97-152 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS, CROSSWALKS, STOP BARS, SIGNS AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS WHEREAS, The Colorado Department of Transportation has prepared and presented to the City an agreement providing for the City to maintain traffic signals, crosswalks, stop bars, signs and pavement markings along State Highways contiguous to the City limits; and WHEREAS, The City has entered into previous intergovernmental agreements with the Colorado Department of Transportation,providing for the maintenance of traffic signals, signs and pavement markings along State highways contiguous to the City limits and no problems have developed from those agreements; and WHEREAS, Colorado law and the City Charter authorize governments to enter into contractual agreements with one another for the purpose of cooperating together in joint activities; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City that an agreement be entered into with the State of Colorado providing for the maintenance of traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings with the City and payment therefore by the State. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Fort Collins and Colorado Department of Transportation, which agreement shall provide for the maintenance by the City and payment therefore by the State at a monthly rate of Two Hundred and Thirty Two Dollars and Ninety Two Cents ($232.92) per traffic signal location, Nine Dollars and Twenty Nine Cents ($9.29) per crosswalk or stop bar and Five Hundred and Forty Seven Dollars and Forty Two Cents ($547.42) per mile for signing and striping.
