OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
---AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH AERO-METRIC ENGINEERING, INC.
FOR DIGITAL PLANIMETRIC MAPPING SERVICES
WHEREAS, maps of the City 's utility infrastructure are currently
maintained by a manual system; and
WHEREAS, a committee of City employees developed a computerized
mapping plan which will provide a degree of accuracy and improved quality
not possible with a manual system; and
WHEREAS, the pilot testing phase of the system has been completed
successfully and equipment and software are in place and being used in
three mapping stations; and
WHEREAS, the next step in the implementation of the computerized
mapping plan is the external data conversion phase; and
WHEREAS, request for proposals for this phase were issued by the
Purchasing Department in October and five firms responded; and
WHEREAS, the consultant selection committee selected Aero-Metric
Engineering, Inc. as the firm most qualified to perform the work; and
WHEREAS, Aero-Metric will complete the proposed contract for a cost
not to exceed One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000) ; and
WHEREAS, monies are available in the Light and Power and Water and
Sewer Utilities budgets and have been encumbered for this project; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is , authorized to enter
into an agreement with Aero-Metric Engineering, Inc. for digital
planimetric mapping services at a cost not to exceed One Hundred and Eighty
Thousand Dollars ($180,000) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 6th day of January, A.D. 1987.
