OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE FILING AND EXECUTION OF AN UMTA SECTION 9
OPERATING ASSISTANCE AND CAPITAL GRANT FOR TRANSFORT
WHEREAS, as provided in the Urban Mass Transportation Act (UMTA) of
1964, as amended, grant monies are available to Transfort and Care-A-Van
for operating assistance and capital purchases; and
WHEREAS, projections for 1986 show an operating deficit for Transfort
and Care-A-Van in the amount of Seven Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand One
Hundred Ninety-One Dollars ($755, 191 . ) ; and
WHEREAS, Section 9 monies are available to reimburse fifty percent
(50%) of this deficit to Transfort and Care-A-Van; and
WHEREAS, Transfort is in need of two additional bus passenger shelters
to be installed at high ridership locations and Section 9 monies are
available to pay eighty percent (80%) of the cost of these two shelters;
and
WHEREAS, local matching funds for the bus passenger shelters will be
appropriated from capital outlay in the 1986 budget for Transfort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
an UMTA Section 9 operating assistance and capital grant for Transfort and
Care-A-Van in the amount of Three Hundred Eighty-Three Thousand Nine
Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($383,915. ) to be used as follows:
City Care-A-Van Total
Operating Assistance: $319,232. $58,364. _ $377,595.
Bus Shelters: 6,320. -- = 6,320.
$383,915.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 20th day of May, A.D. 1986.
