HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-082-05/20/1986-BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD CROSSING SIGNALIZATION EAST PROSPECT STREET PREFABRICATED RUBBER RESOLUTION 86-82 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH THE BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD FOR CROSSING SIGNALIZATION AND PREFABRICATED RUBBER CROSSING AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE BURLINGTON NORTHERN RAILROAD AND EAST PROSPECT STREET WHEREAS, it is desired by the Council that the crossing of the Burlington Northern Railroad and East Prospect Street be upgraded by the installation of new crossing signalization devices and prefabricated rubber crossing material ; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City enter into contracts with the Burlington Northern Railroad to begin the installation of the crossing improvements at this location; and WHEREAS, the City's share of the monies needed to construct this crossing is in the sum of Thirty-Two Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-Eight Dollars and Fifty Cents ($32,428.50) and is currently budgeted and appropriated in the Timberline and Prospect Intersection Reconstruction project fund; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins that contracts be entered into with the Burlington Northern Railroad for the construction of crossing signalization and installation of prefabricated rubber crossing material at the intersection of the Burlington Northern Railroad and East Prospect Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into contracts with the Burlington Northern Railroad for the installation of crossing signalization and prefabricated rubber crossing material at the intersection of the Burlington Northern Railroad and East Prospect Street.
