OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SUCH FUNDS AS
ARE REASONABLE AND PRUDENT TO ACCOMPLISH THE
DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION RELATIVE TO
REFERRED ORDINANCE NO. 110, 1985, WHICH
PROVIDES FOR AN ADDITIONAL 1/4 CENT SALES
TAX RELATING TO THE FORT COLLINS-LOVELAND CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, on September 17, 1985, the Council of the City of Fort
Collins referred Ordinance No. 110, 1985 to a vote of the registered
electors of the City of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Campaign Reform Act provides that state
political subdivisions may make contributions or contributions in kind in
campaigns involving issues in which they have official concern, which have
previously been defined to include the dissemination of objective and
factual information; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and city staff are desirous of complying
with the letter and the spirit of that law; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the City of Fort Collins will be
required to disseminate information regarding Ordinance No. 110, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the Ordinance is a matter in which the City has official
concern; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins wishes to authorize
the expenditure of funds as may be necessary to effectuate the
dissemination of said information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Council hereby authorizes the dissemination of information
concerning Ordinance No. 110, 1985, which has been placed before the
registered voters of the city at a special city election to be conducted on
November 5, 1985, and the expenditures of such staff time and resources not
to exceed the sum of Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Dollars ($999) to provide
objective factual information pertaining to the same.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 17th day of September, A.D. 1985.
