OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL POLICIES RELATING TO
CORRESPONDENCE FROM CITY COUNCIL, AND PROVIDING
FOR FUNDING FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS MEMBERS
ATTENDANCE AT STATE AND NATIONAL ASSOCIATION MEETINGS
WHEREAS, formal policies concerning the making of recommendations
to City Council from Boards and Commissions have been established; and
WHEREAS, Council is desirous of establishing an additional policy
concerning correspondence from Council on Boards and Commissions recommen-
dations; and
WHEREAS, Council is also desirous of establishing a procedure whereby
funding for Boards and Commissions members attendance at State and National
Association meetings can be considered at each year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT COUNCIL ESTABLISH THE FOLLOWING
POLICIES TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS MANUAL:
1. Adding a new Section "4", to Section VIII, "Suggested Procedures ;
C. Accomplishing Goals", to read as follows:
4. Notification of action taken - when specific recommendations
are made which require Council action, Council will notify the
Board of its action, in writing, no later than three days of the
action setting forth the decision, and the rational for reaching
the action.
2. Adding a new Section "E" to Section VI, "General Responsibilities
and Specific Differences" , to read as follows:
E. Supporting staff members, through their Department Heads will
include a yearly request for funding for attendance of boardmembers
to State and National meetings , in their departmental budget
request.
Council will make a determination of the level of funding each year
and not commit future Councils to continuation of this policy,
should future Councils determine that funding is not available to
continue this practice.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 15th day of January, A.D..f1985.
