OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE STATE OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, the office of Energy Conservation of the State of Colorado,
utilizing funding originating from the United States Department of Housing
and Urban Development, Solar Energy and Energy Conservation Bank program,
has offered a grant to the City of Fort Collins ("City") in the sum of
$29,000; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid grant is offered to the City upon condition
that the City comply with the rules and regulations of the Department of
Housing and Urban Development and the State of Colorado pertinent to the
Solar Bank program; and
WHEREAS, the funds, if received by the City, will be used to provide
financial assistance for energy conservation measures made by Fort Collins
residents who are at or below eighty percent (80%) of median income level ;
and
WHEREAS, the Solar Energy and Energy Conservation Bank program (SEEC)
is useful and beneficial to the citizens of the City of Fort Collins in
coordination with the Zero Interest Loan (ZILCH) program, the Residential
Energy Assistance (REACH) program and the Low-Income Energy Assistance
(LEAP) program; and
WHEREAS, the Council does hereby determine that it is in the best
interests of the City of Fort Collins that the Grant Agreement, as afore-
said, be executed and presented to the State of Colorado for approval .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into a
Grant Agreement with the State of Colorado for the use and benefit of the
Department of Regulatory Agency, Office of Energy Conservation , for
the purpose of affording to the City of Fort Collins a grant in the sum of
Twenty-Nine Thousand Dollars ($29,000) for the Solar Energy and Energy
Conservation Bank program, all in accordance with the rules and regulations
of the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of Colo-
rado pertinent to said Solar Bank program, and such other terms and condi-
tions as are contained therein.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins held this 19th day of March, A.D. 1985.
