HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-090-06/04/1985-ACCEPTING THE 'TRANSITION PLAN FOR HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY' RESOLUTION 85- 90 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ACCEPTING THE "TRANSITION PLAN FOR HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY" WHEREAS, Federal regulations (known as "504") were issued on October 17, 1983, providing rules to prevent discrimination of the handicapped; and WHEREAS, all recipients of Revenue Sharing funds were required to comply with the regulations and formulate a policy to implement these regulations within three years; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins formed a Coordinating Committee on Handicapped Regulations to evaluate the requirements of the Federal regulations and make recommendations for compliance; and WHEREAS, the Committee completed its Self-Evaluating Plan in July of 1984 and formulated the Transition Plan which identifies the steps necessary to remedy handicapped accessibility problems. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Transition Plan for Handicapped Accessibility be, and the same hereby is, adopted as the plan to enable the City of Fort Collins to comply with the 504 regulations of the Federal Government. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 4th day of June, A.D. 1985. z L; Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
