OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE STATE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE BY AND THROUGH
THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH OF THE ASSOCIATED
STUDENTS OF COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR
THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING TRANSIT SERVICES
WHEREAS,the City has traditionally provided transit services to the students of Colorado
State University; and
WHEREAS,the City has developed a continuing financial relationship with the Associated
Students of Colorado State University to pay for these services with student fees; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to provide future transit services for the benefit of Colorado
State University students and the general public; and
WHEREAS,Colorado State University students have approved,by referendum,the addition
of transit night service and have agreed to pay an additional$2.75 per student per semester for such
night service; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has found that it is in the best interest
of the citizens of Fort Collins to enter into an agreement with the Associated Students of Colorado
State University concerning the provision of transit services and the payment for these services.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS,that the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an agreement with the
State Board of Agriculture by and through the Executive Branch of the Associated Students of
Colorado State University, for the purpose of providing transit services from August 24, 1998
through August 23, 2000. The terms of the agreement shall include the following provisions:
1. The City shall provide transit services from August 24, 1998, through August 23,
2000.
2. The Associated Students of Colorado State University shall contribute to the City the
sum of Nine Dollars and Forty-four Cents($9.44)for daily service and Two Dollars
and Seventy-five Cents($2.75)for night service per semester for each full-time,fee-
paying student. In addition, the Office of International Training Programs shall
contribute Nine Dollars and Forty-four cents ($9.44) per student per semester for
international students enrolled in said program. Students enrolled in the summer
semester shall pay Seventy Cents ($.70)per credit hour up to a total of Six Dollars
and Thirty Cents($6.30),for day service only. The Associated Students of Colorado
State University shall pay the City Four Dollars and Seventy-two Cents ($4.72)for
day service and One Dollar Thirty-eight Cents ($1.38) for night service for each
Intensive English Program participant taking a one-half(1/2) semester, seven (7)
week session during the Fall or Spring semester; and shall pay Four Dollars and
Seventy-two Cents ($4.72) for each Intensive English Program participant taking a
one-half(1/2)semester,seven(7)week session,during the Summer semester,for day
service only.
3. The City may modify the routes and schedules in effect as of the date of this
Agreement, but shall not substantially impair or reduce the level of services to
student residential areas by such modification.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 18th day of August,
A.D. 1998.
