HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-139-11/05/1991-ALLOCATING $100,000 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FAUS MONEY FEDERAL AID URBAN SYSTEM IGA PAVEMENT MA RESOLUTION 91- 139 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ALLOCATING $100,000 OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS FEDERAL-AID URBAN SYSTEM (FAUS) MONEY TO THE PAVEMENT MARKINGS UPGRADE PROJECT WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation is responsible for the administration of Federal -Aid Urban System (FAUS) funds; and WHEREAS, FAUS funds have been budgeted, appropriated, and otherwise made available by the Colorado Department of Transportation in the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) for the City of Fort Collins Pavement Markings Upgrade Project (the Project) ; and WHEREAS, the City has submitted initial design data to the State setting forth therein preliminary details, information, and estimates of the cost of the Project, which data has been approved by the State of Colorado; and WHEREAS, the funding for the Project is one hundred percent (100%) Federal - Aid for direct costs; and WHEREAS, the City has estimated that the total cost of the Project is One Hundred and Two Thousand Dollars ($102,000) and is prepared to proceed with the Project with the understanding that all costs in excess of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) shall be borne by the City, provided these excess costs do not exceed Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) ; and WHEREAS, the Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) that may be needed to cover these excess costs is available in the sign and paint portion of the 1992 Streets Department budget; and WHEREAS, the State of Colorado has presented a form of intergovernmental agreement to be entered into between the Colorado Department of Transportation and the City of Fort Collins for the purpose of accomplishing the Project that provides the City will complete and maintain the Project using FAUS funds and City funds; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins does hereby determine that it is in the best interest of the City to enter into this intergovernmental agreement; and WHEREAS, Article II , Section 16 of the City Charter provides that the Council may enter into agreements with other governmental bodies for the performance of cooperative or joint activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Fort Collins and the Colorado Department of Transportation, for the purpose of completing the Project, as listed on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; provided, however, that the total cost of the Project to the City shall not exceed the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) .
