HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-111-08/06/1991-PRIORITY LIST STATE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS RESOLUTION 91-111 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS SUPPORTING A PRIORITY LIST OF STATE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS IN THE FORT COLLINS AREA WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation, through various counties of the State, has developed a process for receiving input into the yearly update of the State's Five-Year Highway Program of Projects; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Larimer County have requested a recommendation from the City Council regarding the City's preferred priorities for State Highway Improvement Projects in the Fort Collins area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the "Fort Collins Area State Highway Project Prioritization List, " attached hereto, be and hereby is recommended to the Board of County Commissioners of Larimer County, and to the Colorado Department of Transportation, as the City's recommended order of priority for the projects listed thereon. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 6th day of August, A.D. 1991. i i Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk FORT COLLINS AREA STATE HIGHWAY PROJECT PRIORITIZATION LIST I . TRAFFIC OPERATIONS/ALTERNATIVE MODES AND GEOMETRIC IMPROVEMENTS 1 . North College Avenue improvements, in cooperation with the City of Fort Collins, from Jefferson Street to Shields Street. Improvements to include access study, ROW, bikeways, curb and gutter, drainage, aesthetic improvements, the realignment of North Shields Street and railroad crossing and signalization at North Shields Street and U.S. 287. 2. Construct commuter bike lanes on Harmony Road (SH 68) from South College Avenue to I-25. 3. State Highway 14 (Mulberry Street) and Lemay Avenue intersection improvements. II . INTERSTATE 25 PROJECTS 1 . Provide Park and Ride-share facilities on I-25 at the interchanges of Mulberry (SH14) , Prospect Road, and Harmony Road (SH 68) . The City will market the facilities through the Commuter Pool Program. III. OTHER PROJECTS FOR CONSIDERATION 1 . State Highway Relocation Project and/or recommendations from the City's Northeast Area Transportation Study that will be completed in the Spring of 1992. 2. Assist the City of Fort Collins in securing funds for the Burlington Northern/Union Pacific Railroad tracks consolidation project in downtown Fort Collins. 3. The completion of E-470, fourth segment, or other adequate access to the new airport from northern Colorado.
