OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE RENOVATION OF THE FORT COLLINS
COMMUNITY POOL LOCATED AT 424 SOUTH SHERWOOD STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins ("the City") owns a community pool located
at 424 South Sherwood Street ("the Pool ") ; and
WHEREAS, the Pool needs to be renovated in order to provide a safe,
accessible and improved pool to better meet the swimming needs of the community;
and
WHEREAS, the analysis of options for the replacement of the Pool have shown
the costs of replacement to be prohibitive so that replacement, as authorized
in Resolution 91-53, is no longer preferable to renovation; and
WHEREAS, $1,476,573 was approved by the citizens through the Choices 95
process to renovate or replace the Pool ; and
WHEREAS, these funds have been appropriated and are available for the Pool
renovation; and
WHEREAS, $452,000 of additional funds are necessary to complete the
renovation of the Pool and may be appropriated from the Choices 95 fund as part
of the 1992 budget; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of Fort Collins to
renovate the Pool .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
1 . That the renovation of the Fort Collins Community Pool located at 424
South Sherwood Street is preferable to the replacement of the pool .
2. That the amount of One Million Four Hundred Seventy-six Thousand Five
Hundred Seventy-three Dollars ($1,476,573) currently in the Choices 95 fund and
appropriated for the renovation or replacement of the Pool shall be used for such
renovation.
3. That an additional sum of Four Hundred Fifty-two Thousand Dollars
($452,000) shall be included in the Proposed 1992 budget to be used, if
appropriated, for the completion of the pool renovation project.
4. That any provisions of Resolution 91-53 contrary to or inconsistent
with this Resolution are superseded by this Resolution.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 6th day of August, A.D. 199�1 .
