HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-099-06/21/1994-AIRCRAFT PARKING RAMP FAA FORT COLLINS/LOVELAND AIRPORT GRANT AGREEMENT WASTE GLYCOL SYSTEM RESOLUTION 94-99 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION REGARDING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MATCHING GRANT TO FUND MODIFICATION OF THE AIRPORT AIRCRAFT PARKING RAMP AT THE FORT COLLINS/LOVELAND MUNICIPAL AIRPORT WHEREAS, the Cities of Fort Collins and Loveland (the "Cities") jointly own ant olrerate the Fort Collins/Loveland Municipal Airport ("Airport"); and WHEREAS, the Fort Collins/Loveland Municipal Airport is experiencing an increase in demand for both commercial and general service; and WHEREAS, the Airport has developed a twenty-year Airport Improvement Program (AIP) which is consistent with the emerging market niche of general aviation and commuter service to Denver; and WHEREAS, The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) annually provides grant funding to eligible airports to enable those airports to pursue required capital improvements included within the Airport Improvement Program in a timely manner; and WHEREAS, the Airport has identified the modification of the existing aircraft parking ramp to include the installation of a waste glycol (aircraft de- icing solution) collection and monitoring system, as a priority element of the twenty-year Airport Improvement program; and WHEREAS, this project is consistent with the Airport Improvement Program and the Draft Airport Operating and Development Policy; and WHEREAS, the Cities have applied for, and have been offered a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration in the amount of $319,037.97, which will finance ninety-percent (90%) of the total cost ($354,486.63) of the modification; and WHEREAS, the Airport has included the matching share of ten percent (10%) , or $35,448.66 in the approved 1994 Airport Budget. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and are hereby authorized to execute the Grant Agreement, on file in the City Clerk's office, between the City and the Federal Aviation Administration, in the amount of $319,037.97, to be used for the purpose of modifying the existing aircraft parking ramp for the installation of a waste glycol collection and monitoring system.
