OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A GRANT AGREEMENT
WITH THE UNITED STATES FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
FOR AIRCRAFT PARKING APRON AND TAXIWAY IMPROVEMENTS
AT THE FORT COLLINS-LOVELAND AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Cities of Loveland and Fort Collins, Colorado ("Cities")
jointly own and operate the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport
("Airport") ; and
WHEREAS, the Cities are actively pursuing an agreement with
Continental Express Airlines to provide commercial flight service between
the Airport and Denver, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of this project is estimated to be $477,000,
of which $180,000 is eligible for a 90% Grant from the Federal Aviation
Administration; and
WHEREAS, The FAA has offered to provide the Cities with $162,000 for
this project; and
WHEREAS, The Cities have previously appropriated the sponsors share of
this project ($18,000) for the purpose of matching the anticipated Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1 . That the City of Fort Collins shall , as co-sponsor with
the City of Loveland, Colorado, accept the grant offer from the Federal
Aviation Administration for the purpose of obtaining federal aid in the
development of the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport.
Section 2. That the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to enter
into a Grant Agreement between the City of Fort Collins, the City of
Loveland and the Federal Aviation Administration for the receipt and use of
grant funds to construct an aircraft parking apron and taxiway at the Fort
Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport in the form approved by the City
Attorney and in substantially the same form as has been executed for
similar grants in the past.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
7th day of August, A.D. 1990.
