OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH CARE-A-VAN TO PROVIDE SPECIALIZED
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WITHIN THE
CITY OF FORT COLLINS
WHEREAS, Care-A-Van provides transportation services to the elderly,
handicapped and economically disadvantaged citizens of Fort Collins which
specialized services are not available through the City's Transfort bus
system; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide transportation service to all its
citizens and has in the past contracted with Care-A-Van, Inc. to furnish
this specialized service; and
WHEREAS, Ten Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($10,500) is available in
the General Fund and a maximum of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars
($120,000) in federal Section 9 grant money has been allocated to
Care-A-Van to provide the City's total contribution of One Hundred Thirty
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($130,500) under the terms of the proposed
contract with Care-A-Van; and
WHEREAS, in the event federal funds actually available to the City are
decreased, the allocation of pass-through funds to Care-A-Van will be
decreased proportionately.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a contract with Care-A-Van, Inc. , to provide transportation services
to elderly, handicapped and economically disadvantaged citizens of Fort
Collins for a sum not to exceed One Hundred Thirty Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($130,500) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
19th day of January, A.D. 1988.
