OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT
TO ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONSULTANTS
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins (the
"Code") authorizes contracts for services of a professional , technical or
consulting nature, the major result of which would yield to the City a
report, plan or similar document upon approval of the City Manager after
evaluation in accordance with the procedure for selection of professionals;
and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that design and
construction management services come within the purview of this section of
the Code; and
WHEREAS, in November of 1989, the City issued a request for proposals
for professional services for the Harmony Road Water Transmission Main and
other projects requiring similar qualifications; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the design and construction
services of the Princeton Road Water Line and Storm Sewer is project
requiring similar qualifications; and
WHEREAS, upon evaluation of the proposals, in accordance with the
City's procedure, it has been determined that Rocky Mountain Consultants
should be selected to perform such work; and
WHEREAS, the fee shall not exceed Eighty-five Thousand and Thirty-
nine Dollars ($85,039) for such work; and
WHEREAS, the funds for this expenditure have been budgeted and
appropriated and are available in the Capital Projects Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved this contract for professional
services; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code requires approval of the City
Council for any such contracts in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20,000) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement with Rocky Mountain Consultants for
design and construction management services for the Princeton Road Water
Line and Storm Sewer, for a total cost not to exceed Eighty-five Thousand
and Thirty-nine Dollars ($85,039) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 16th day of January, A.D. 1990.
