OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT
OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH, COLORADO
STATE UNIVERSITY FOR FISH
AND BENTHIC BIOSURVEYS
WHEREAS, City wastewater discharge activities have had an impact on
water characteristics of the Cache La Poudre River; and
WHEREAS, the City has been involved since 1981 in a survey program to
determine the degree of impact that such activities have on the waters of
the Cache La Poudre River; and
WHEREAS, information regarding water quality is essential for water
resources planning and management activities; and
WHEREAS, for the aforesaid reasons, the Council of the City of Fort
Collins has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of
the City that said survey program be continued for the calendar year 1990;
and
WHEREAS, the Council has further determined that it is in the best
interest of the City that the Mayor be authorized to extend the agreement
for one additional year (1991) and make modifications to the agreement or
any extension as necessary to protect the City's interests; and
WHEREAS, Article III , Section 16 of the City Charter provides that the
Council may enter into agreements with other governmental bodies for the
performance of cooperative or joint activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1 . That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement with the Colorado State University for the continuation
of a fish and benthic biosurvey program for the 1990 calendar year, in
consideration of the payment by the City of a sum not to exceed Twenty-one
Thousand Three Hundred and Eighteen Dollars ($21,318) .
Section 2. That the Mayor may, if he deems it to be in the best
interest of the City, extend the Agreement one (1) additional year and may
make modifications to the Agreement or any extension thereof as necessary
to protect the City's interests and to provide for water resources planning
and management. Such modifications may include cost increases for services
performed under any extension.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 20th day of March, A.D. 1990.
