OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH
THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS, CROSS WALKS,
STOP BAR, SIGNS AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation has prepared and
presented to the City an agreement providing for the City to maintain traffic
signals, crosswalks, stop bar, signs and pavement markings along State highways
within the City limits; and
WHEREAS, the City has entered into previous intergovernmental agreements
with the Colorado Department of Transportation which provide for the maintenance
of traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings along State highways within the
City, and no problems have resulted from those agreements; and
WHEREAS, Colorado law and the City Charter authorize governments to enter
into contractual agreements with one another for the purpose of cooperating
together in joint activities; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the
City that an agreement be entered into with the State of Colorado providing for
the maintenance of additional traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings
within the City and payment therefor by the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to enter into an
intergovernmental agreement between the City of Fort Collins and Colorado
Department of Transportation, which agreement shall provide for the maintenance
of traffic signals, signing and pavement markings along state highways within the
City, and payment for such services by the State at a monthly rate of Two Hundred
Thirty-Two Dollars and Ninety-Two Cents ($232.92) per traffic signal , a yearly
rate of Eight Hundred Eighty-Seven Dollars and Seventy Cents ($887.70) per mile
for signing and striping, and a monthly rate of Nine Dollars and Twenty-Nine
Cents ($9.29) per crosswalk and stop bar.
